On Wednesday 24th November, we were thrilled to be back in action here at The John Smith’s Stadium, hosting our popular Stadium Partners’ Networking Forum in association with Hanson / Walker Singleton. We were also delighted to welcome back Justin Featherstone as our guest speaker for the event, having previously spoken in 2019 Justin didn’t disappoint. His thoughts and experiences were truly engaging for our guests, and it was fantastic to have him share such different experiences.
Now Head of Leadership Practice at Mission Performance, Justin shared his thoughts with our audience on ‘Preparing Leaders for the modern world: Sandhurst and beyond’ – where he discussed the ethos and servant leadership approach at the heart of Sandhurst’s attitude to preparing young officers, as well as sharing his experiences of putting such ideas to the ultimate test when he commanded a company during fierce fighting in Iraq in 2004. Justin also went on to explain how concepts such as purpose, vulnerability, empathy and selflessness are key lessons applicable to all leadership situations, further allowing for discussions amongst our audience on putting such concepts in to practice.
Once again, Justin proved to be an extremely popular speaker – our audience were fully engaged and continued to praise him and his discussions during our informal lunch and networking session closing the event. It was fantastic to see so many of our partners in attendance, and we look forward to organising and seeing you all at our next one!
