On Thursday 31st March the Stadium played host to four fantastic sporting stars, track and field runner Steve Cram CBE, Decathlete Daley Thompson CBE, 400m Sprinter Jamie Baulch and Rugby Union Star Phil Davies, for the third annual Forget Me Not Sporting Dinner.
The dinner was in aid of local charity the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, which cares for children across West Yorkshire who have life shortening health conditions.
With the help of private donations from guests and the evening’s auctions the dinner raised an amazing £12,000 for the hospice.
Fundraising Events Manager, Lucy Burnett said, “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who made the evening such a great success, from our sport stars to our sponsors to our guests, it really was a fantastic night.”
Steve Cram CBE, who acted again as host at the annual dinner interviewed former team mate and Decathlete Daley Thompson, who won Olympic Gold Medals at the 1980 and 1984 games, 400m sprinter Jamie Baulch, who won the Olympic Silver Medal at the 1996 games and former Rugby Union player and current coach of Namibia Phil Davies.
