Just two months into the Hanson Chartered Surveyors and Walker Singleton merger we are beginning to see how the combining of expertise is already benefitting our joint client base and that is before genuine assimilation has taken place.

It was never going to surprise me that to bring in additional resources can free up time to attend to the really important job of looking after clients’ interests. We stretch the working day and are accessible on email and our smart phones endlessly but at what cost? In reality and ultimately under-resourcing is counter- productive. This has nothing to do with the best work ethic which has never been in short supply at my firm and nor is it at Walker Singleton where there is an identifiable attitude to do right by the client.

I knew this before our merger when I went in search of the right additions to our professional staff but having been so disappointed with the alternatives which presented and the rolling of the dice if we had taken one or more candidate on with no guarantee of improvement in client support;  taking advantage of recognised third party expertise with a similar professional multi-disciplined  background became obvious. So we unplugged our computers, walked up the road three doors and plugged them in again.

And here we are at Oak House suddenly with the additional resources of Walker Singleton’s four office multi-disciplined practice ready to get the clients to wherever they need to be.

In another short couple of months assimilation will be almost complete with interconnecting web sites and the rest.
